Prime Hydration drink

Prime hydration and Prime energy are not the same.
Prime hydration has less sugar than regular Gatorade and no caffeine. It’s fine as a sports drink.
My kid is mad on it too, it’s just a fad. It’s fine.

My 2nd grader is also obsessed. We live in California now so it’s everywhere. Went to a hotel recently and all the kids were playing at the pool from different states and every boy was saying “we got prime boys, we got prime!” Do they even have a marketing campaign? What is it about this gross drink that has been so successful in getting every boy hooked?

Also now it’s at all the bday parties. Went to one over the weekend in the invite that said “pizza and prime” and then saw social media of other kids at parties doing laser tag holding a prime.

I just think it taste so gross. I don't know why folks willingly drink fake sugar (it tastes so chemically to me!) (I understand some folks can't have sugar but I think I would rather not drink it at all than drink the fake stuff)

Agree. I can’t even take one sip

My 4th grade girl says the boys are obsessed with it. They’re bringing the one that’s like Gatorade, not an energy drink.

She’s right. My 4th grade DS and classmates are obsessed with it. I had to Google it when DS started asking about it. The hydration version doesn’t have any caffeine and no added sugar. More like flavored water.

Funny I just heard about this over the weekend because my nephew told his grandmother to buy some (hydration, not energy). It's just coconut water with some extra flavoring and electrolytes? And probably more expensive than anyone wants it to be. It seemed to have less sugar/calories than gatorade.

So. Whatever.

This is about right for elementary school kids. They are normally a bit behind the older ones!

Bleah, 100 times grosser than flavored water. Even watered down, it's a lot.

My 8th grader really wanted it for a time, but it's seemed to pass now. So I'm stuck using up these packets of hydration drink when I run.

You can blame influencers and older siblings or whatever, but in the end parents do this to themselves.

It's a beverage. Simmer down. I recall, in the days before you tube kids going crazy over Kool Aid, Capri Sun, Clearly Canadian, Snapple, etc.

+1 the only difference is advertising method, most kids don’t watch regular TV anymore

Even if the kid was in a no TV, no electronics household, all it takes is one kid to bring it to school and suddenly it's a thing.

And the kids want to give it to each other as gifts too. At the last 2 boy birthday parties I’ve been to, both for kids turning 8, the kid has received a bottle of Prime.

It tastes gross btw. But the kids love it. It does have a lot fewer calories than soda.

My kids love it. I find it tolerable when diluted with water by about 50%.

When my kid had the red one, it reminded me of red Hawaiian Punch but with the type of sweetener in it that they use in Bai waters and some of the other low-calorie drinks. I agree, it needs to be HEAVILY cut with water or unflavored sparkling water to be palatable for an adult.

My kid saw it in soccer camp and was asking for it. I agree with other posters they mean the "hydration" version (caffeine free).

I would prefer not to support KSI/Logan Paul but I get it for them occasionally as a treat. It’s better than soda at least.

Is it really, though?

It’s flavored coconut water with very few calories. My kid works with a dietician and she approves this drink.

I personally went crazy for that Hawaiian Punch in the big metal can!
