Some of these are pared down for the sake of brevity. 1) "Wow, you don't look Jewish. You don't have the nose!" 2) "Your people killed Jesus!" 3) "The Holocaust was a hoax!" 4) "Aren't you supposed to be rich?" 5) "You're going to hell! Do you want to convert?" |
| I have noticed that religious symbols are far less common in DC than in other parts of the country. I do notice when someone wears one, but I try not to judge. I sometimes wear a religious symbol, yet I think doing so makes me responsible for any consequences that result |
What absolute nonsense! Anybody passing out “consequences” in this context is responsible for themselves, and any I’ll that befalls them as a result. People have every right to wear their religious symbols and not be harassed or molested. |
How often are you on the receiving end of comments like this? |
| I am Jewish and I am afraid to wear my Star of David necklace. |
I am a different poster but I have heard things like these throughout my life. My son is in HS and these are things he hears 1. Go back to the camps 2. What’s the difference between Jews and math? Nothing they are both made of numbers 3. Smells like burnt meat in here 4. Hitler didn’t finish his job 5. All kinds of Auschwitz references This is a suburban Maryland high school. |
I’m sorry that is terrible. |
