Please do move. |
Because you want to see this area fail and become another failed poor suburburban school system like those around NYC? |
Yes, this is how it is at Madison |
The only way that will happen is if republicans are elected to the Board in a majority. Otherwise, a dem majority will simply ignore and override any attempt to replace Reid. |
Do you guys understand English? Next year it won’t be like that. Your schools are obviously still doing SBG this year. Next year they will be required to do the normal 100 point scale. |
The letter at the beginning of the year, saying that all schools would use a 100-point scale next year, didn't say "normal 100 point scale". It just said 100 point scale, which Madison and Irving and other schools are doing now with their A=100, B=86 for a 9/10, c=76, D=66. That is English. And it's awful. |
No because people like you are insufferable. The schools will be fine with or without you. |
My kids' schools is just fine. I don't need to cut off my nose to spite my face and vote in Rs. |
No, you're the one that doesn't understand English. Our school is "following the rules" using a 100 point scale, but it is a conversion of the 4 point scale. It's still standards based grading and only allows for 100%, 86%, 72%, 66%, and failing. It sucks and I feel like it's coming for everyone. Those grades can be averaged together as the year goes on, providing other grades, but for each individual test and assignment, those are the only grades given. SBG is NOT going away - they just have to use a 100 point scale instead of a 4 point scale to use standards based grading. |
I very much wish this were true, but unfortunately you are wrong here. We will be going to the 100 point scale but SBG will still exist. So an A will be a 100, a B will be an 86, etc. The outcome will be the same as the 0-4 point scale, fewer As and Ds. |
I also plan to vote Republican over this issue. Hoping it will force some reflection by the administration. I don’t think I will be the only one. Guess we will see. |
Do you understand English? It’s been stated already that Madison will move to a 100 pt scale, that is completely separate from SBG which will CONTINUE at Madison. |
Yes, this is what will happen. FCPS putting out ambiguous policy that will not be uniformly enforced. Goal is to confuse everyone and have equity based grading outcome. |
I don’t get it- so giving higher grades to those who don’t earn it? Is that what this means? If I were a POC I would be offended if someone wanted to give me something I didn’t earn. Do POC get offended for getting something they didn’t earn? I’m curious. |
You’ll see next year. Come back and update then. |
