Going over to friend’s house when parents aren’t home?

Anonymous
I have 12 and 14 yo kids. My 12yo has friends over all the time. All of the kids have siblings. I used to tell parents that I have to drive my other kid to sports or reason why I will be out of the house for part of the time. I no longer do that.

I only allow kids at my house with my kid whose parents I have known for years and I know the kids are the well behaved responsible ones. Both my kids have friends I don’t want over whether parents are here or not. Larla who lives down the street? Fine. Best friend? Fine.

+1 my kids are the same ages, and we handle the same.

If the kids do want to invite newer friends over, a parent needs to be home.
