Congrats to FCPS on first week

I’ll never understand the absolutely unending energy towards hating the places and people you supposedly send the most important thing in your life to.

I suspect most of the chronically cranky do actually understand they’re accessing pretty elite public education, otherwise they’d seek out alternative options. Rather I think this thirstiness to be so pessimistic and toxic are just part of their personalities at this point, these are the same people who complain after they finish their meal. If these posts weren’t anonymous I’m almost certain you’d see the same who complain about missing school days are the first to criticize not giving snow days. They don’t know what they want, they just know that someone, somewhere is the reason they’re unhappy.

I mean you just described a good chunk of this forum, esp the FCPS one in the past 3 years. It’s tiring. We have issues with FCPS but the constant criticism without actually having anything meaningful to add to the discussion sucks.

Bites? How on Earth does that happen? Is this the self contained classroom?

Fellow ES teacher....I sadly believe this.

Spouse and I both work full time jobs.

All the 4-day weeks are extremely stressful on our schedules.

Who came up with the idea for all these 4-day weeks?

Can we vote on this issue, hopefully soon??

But don't worry, you won't see another one for 2 weeks with many more broken weeks to come!

Whatever, so many kids are already sick. Including with COVID (which may be a NBD but it is to some). They're just spreading their illness all over. The weekend can't come fast enough.

It is the weekend and we are already dealing with illness.

DDs annual back to school ick hit earlier than expected this year. Now she’ll be coughing until December which is always a delight in post-COVID life.

Two teachers here. Not surprised at all, especially at the kindergarten level.

School is not daycare. Maybe one of you can go into work really early on the Friday and then come home and the other one go in late. Work some extra hours during the week. Anything is possible, you just gotta be creative sometimes.

My child had a great first week. Buses ran on time and class seems to be going well.

PP here. Also no bad behaviors I have heard of so far in my Kindergartener's class. They seem to closely supervise the kindergarteners. Maybe it's just our school.

You know the schedule MONTHS in advance. Plan for it. You aren't the first to deal with this. We did. You plan for it.
