I'm not sure that's really 'daddyball' the way most people describe it. In fact, having the kid at the bottom of the order and not in the field undermines any Daddyball accusations. Daddyball would have been if the coach batted him 3rd and let him play SS. We just left a team were the coach's kid batted cleanup despite having the lowest average on the team. |

In our experience, hitting is the number one thing that will get your kid playing time. I've seen this at both the club level and high school. Even if a kid regularly makes errors, if they are a top hitter they will play. I'm not sure what is going on in your son's experience, OP, but if he will have different coaches going forward, I wouldn't worry about it.
