I didn’t see disrespect. I saw Ryan suggesting a different pose and Simu made a joke in response. Ryan thought the photo would look better if their arms weren’t around each other and I actually agree. Simu turned it into a joke with “too tender”? And got some laughs.

Most likely the PP confused Simu Liu with someone else. But it is possible that he was referencing this old reddit non-issue when Simu Liu (or a public account that was supposedly Simu Liu) was saying that pedophiles are abused by the system and are much like LGBTQ people who deserve sympathy and help. The account has been deleted, but of course, everything on the Internet is eternal and it was dredged back up after he became a star from Shang Chi.
