We have only cruised on Royal Caribbean, Allure of the Seas. It was great. It was an multi-generational family trip, my first cruise, and not my choice but I was pleasantly surprised at how much we loved the vacation. There was plenty to do for people of all ages and the staterooms were small but nice. We saw 3 great shows - a musical, a standup comic, and an acrobatic show. Regarding food, I thought it was really good. I did have a couple of bad meals but also a couple of really amazing ones that were just as good or better than nice restaurants we've been to in DC.
We went on a 7 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale. |

I’ve only cruised a few times but I would rank those as:
Celebrity Princess Royal Caribbean Carnival But all were fun! |
That is because you took the ship that left from Baltimore. You needed to drive up to NYC and take the ship from the terminal there, Liberty I think. The ship was freshly rebuilt, had ice skating shows each night with themes and lessons. We loved that so much! The food was great and they even had a food-allergy section for me. The staff was nice, the ship was immaculate. No smokers were seen unless in the casino after midnight which we only ventured to once. There were lots of activities, plenty of entertainment for my teen and little one. Now, we skipped all the Bermuda excursions, met a local and he got us in touch with a guy who showed us the island and some amazing hidden beaches and Instagram worthy spots. We had the time of our lives and everything went off without a hitch. But, a few people I know went on the Baltimore cruise to Bermuda and it was HORRIBLE! Read the reviews before you book. |

This is how I search for cruises, and we have bee on 8 cruises thus far:
-ships first as this is where you will spend most of your time: (food, quarters, childcare, itenerary, reviews) -Then, how long of a trip? Where do you want to go? Which port? I can change all of these factors to get a ship I really want to go on. -Then, we look at cost and if they have connecting rooms. |

How about Viking? Their brochure makes me want to book with them.
Same with American Cruise Line's ads in Southern Living magazine. And I don't really want to take a cruise! |
I was with you until you said “Instagram worthy.” |
| Viking is over 21 only and American Queen and American Cruise Lines average age is about 70. Just fyi. |
That's part of the appeal to me. |
