Back to office notice?

What do you do now on the 2 days you need to be in? Also, will this situation be tolerable once school starts, or never? If it's just another 4-6 weeks, figure out if you can get a delay or plan some long weekends. If it will never be tolerable to you, you can see if it sticks and/or start looking for a new job.

So where is spouse, mother in law, mother, father in law, father, sisters. Brothers, sister in laws, brother in laws, aunts. Uncles. baby sitter, neighbors. Nanny, sleep seat camp, child care facility? Lots of ways to get help. How is it bosses job to do your childcare?

Precisely, employers should just hire childless people.

And fire any worker who gets pregnant or has to take care of old parents. Those are red flags to their dedication!

I'm guessing working or commuting themselves, far away, dead, or requiring more than a day's or a week's notice to clear their schedules or open up a slot? People who have large networks of local extended family with totally open availability for childcare in the early mornings and/or late afternoons are very lucky, yes. But do you really think anyone would be stressing about this if they had a spouse or grandma who WAS available, or a nanny willing to extend their hours, seriously?

Most of us wouldn't think of asking our bosses to do our childcare. Good thing asking for more than a week's advance notice of a major change in working conditions is pretty different than requesting babysitting.
