Any problem wearing rainbows, pride bracelets, rainbow shoes in South?

Get yourself some rainbow gear too to show support.

I'm straight, live in the south (NC) and wear rainbow stuff all the time. I love the colors. I'm in a blue part of the state though and no one says anything.

That being said, I would probably tone down her wardrobe until you can get a read on these people. You don't want some gross people making rude comments to a 13 year old becuase of her shirt.

I’m in NC. No one is going to care about rainbow shoes. And really, I would be shocked if anyone cared about rainbow shirts. If she wears something that outright says “PRIDE”, I still would be surprised if any family members said anything (and I have all kinds of rural relatives). But they might ask you about it or just talk about all of you behind your backs. And it won’t be all of them. The reality is that those who have gone to college are more likely to be accepting or at least non confrontational. If the crowd is mostly only high school educated and attends a fundamentalist church, then there is more likely to be commentary.
