RTO/Hybrid gaining momentum

If more private companies require office time, how long will it take government agencies to demand the same?

My government agency has required two days per week since 2021.

Not all agencies are the same. Mine still allows full telework and we don't anticipate that changing in the near future.

This has to be the same person posting this weekly.

Sorry your job sucks.

Actually a wonderful company. I only started in 2023. We own the whole building and parking lot. It is self managed

We had hybrid two days a week which was generous considering we have 5 weeks PT0, 10 holidays. We put hybrid as Tuesday and Thursday WFH which means with Monday holidays tons of four day weekends. Plus Friday is casual Jeans and sneakers and let us leave early. That was last three years

This year new hires like me are coming in 5 days a week. I noticed majority of new hires are all in person.

I also noticed when good jobs open up we hire externally as now those jobs we want people in office 5 days a week if director or higher.

People sitting in cubes are free to work hybrid forever. But can’t really manage an area.

Case in point Juneteenth week. Here is staff schedule.
Off Monday June 19
June 20 WFH
June 21 in office
June 22 WFH
June 23 Casual Friday leave at 330pm

That week I have the board package to get ready. The auditors are in the office. June 30 quarter end closing in.

Staff can’t get promoted much in WFH or get much of a bonus. Most are very happy with set up.

And it keeps getting worse. I applaud my CEO for letting Covid people keep their deal. But it turns job into dead end for them

Why are you so interested in what others do? Focus on your own job.
