I have been on both sides. I became exasperated with not being able to talk with a friend because her best friend was a huge gossip. Nothing was ever shared so I can't say something bad happened but I got tired of always holding my tongue in case she let something slip. I stopped reaching out.

+1 Sometimes there's a certain trait that you deal with because everyone has flaws. Then it just happens enough where it's clear that it's a deal breaker. The friend hasn't changed, but rather your perspective on the friend has.
