Reading the title it isn’t even OP’s friend who owns the restaurant. It’s the friend’s parents. So you’re now asking your friend to be in an awkward spot approaching their parents for you.

And this is not even a favor you need. It is because you did not plan ahead, and there are a million other restaurants out there.
