Birkenstocks - is it really worth the break in period?

Anonymous
Just don't go for a super long walk the first day. I am able to wear them walking for miles after the first couple days of breaking them in gradually. It shouldn't be painful to wear them, though. All feet are different and Birks may not work for your feet. Have you gone to a comfort shoe store to make sure you are in the right size?

I currently have four pair - two of the platforms, a fleece lined, and regular soft bed. I wear a 39 (I’m a 9.5), I have a pretty high arch, and generally have little to no break-in period. I’ve never worn the platforms on long walks, but the others I wear on long walks. Agree about needing the straps to be snug.

Whoa! I'm a 9.5 and I wear a 40 narrow in Arizona, just barely. 41 regular in Gizeh. My toes must be much longer than yours -- I'd be hanging out of a 39!

I don't think so.

I have a few pairs and they are not as comfy to me as the brand Footbeds I get at Off Broadway Shoes. They cost ~$45 and feel just as supportive as Birks. I've done Busch Gardens, Disney, and lots of DC trips in my knock-off Birks.

I love my birks and have never had an issue with just wearing them from the beginning.
