The embryologist/lab director was so kind he called me back. He's a gem and losing him is a huge loss for GW - I hope he finds work quickly! Same with their billing staff; I found them so kind (unlike their front desk staff).

Now, let's hope my $15,000 eggs aren't destroyed in the process of moving. I chose GW specifically because they're a hospital and I assumed they'd be more stable than Shady Grove, so I'm really anxious about having to move them

Do not move to Shady Grove.

Poster from 7/14 here - not planning to do Shady Grove; but just curious - any reason why you don't recommend them? I always was suspect of the profit motive for them and that's why I chose GW as a hospital in the first place.

+1 same question.

A lot of people think Shady Grove is impersonal and factory-like and only good at treating more 'simple' cases of infertility (ie male factor, PCOS, blocked tubes). They tend to be a bad choice for someone who wants a more personal touch or anyone who has a complicated case of infertility.

They left us a vm that they’re only going to be open 3 more weeks and it’s coming down to the wire about where to transfer embryos. I really haven’t decided what to do. I hate this.

GW is notoriously the worst. If you are going to spend the time and money go in on Shady Grove (even if you feel like it is a cattle call) or go West Coast

We were in the same position and were probably one of the last people to decide. We were very close to disposing, but ultimately said eff it, we will transfer and give ourselves more time. I hope you were able to come to a decision that you are comfortable with.
