I would agree with you. But what gets me is the bragging rights of the parents whose kids got in. It drove me crazy to listen to them at birthday parties. I knew a lot of the second grade class kids well and I was surprised that my kid wasn't deemed at the same level. Then I found out the whole AAP program is 70% parent referred. So it seems like a really exclusive club. The students also get more attention and more work. |

Looking for a way to game the system huh? This is the reason AAP and the TJ selection process are f’d up now. Have some integrity and do the right thing. If you really want a competitive academic environment, apply to a private like Nysmith or Basis in McLean. |
