I did want to let people know that 2 doz eggs at Costco is still $6 though.

Dozen eggs are $2.99 at Trader Joes.

And we have completely eliminated ordering food in and dining out at restaurants. It’s $50-$100 every time for the most basic things.

Eggs $4/dozen where I shop.

On average, eggs doubled in price. If you find cheap ones at Aldi or Dollar Store or wherever then kew-el.

They will never go down! They may stop increasing or slow down the increases.

Maybe it was not a good idea to print 700 billion dollars into the economy to hire 80k IRS agents that I’m sure will take years to hire and train to do their jobs. And also a climate bill at that.

That “printed” money did not help reduce inflation one bit, and poured gas on the inflation fire and make it much worse than it already was! The “Infaltikn Reduction Act” was pure BS. Enjoy your high prices. Good job Dems.

You obviously known no math. It was trillions printed by the Trump administration AND combined with tax cuts. That is orders of magnitude more consequential than hiring agents to collect taxes from the wealthy.

Oh, hi there. Let’s actually talk about what Biden is doing as president? This was his bill, his money. Trump is not the president anymore. Inflation is a world wide problem, no need to make it worse with current legislation. So focus on how it’s going to be fixed rather than going back 2-5 years.

Sorry I can’t fix stupid. What happened 2-5 years ago has consequences you are living today. That is life.

You in 5 years:

But Trump was president in 2019 and it was all his fault….

All spending was passed with bipartisan support and we are In a once in a lifetime pandemic.
Same spending would ah e happened for
Covid regardless who was president.

I’m sure your dumb ass will still be blaming Trump in 20 years.

But guess what, I’m blaming Carter for his crap economic policies of the 70’s, and it’s all his fault we have inflation now. Yeah, no.

I still blame Reagan for gutting the middle class.

And the insane crazy-making of this bubble where we live is not only are the people around me not adjusting their consumption done to accommodate, they are adjusting their consumption up, like it’s still 2019! The number of $80k new cars and brand new kitchens in my neighborhood since the pandemic began is mind blowing. I hate it here and want to move somewhere normal but my husband refuses.

We're shopping at Aldi. If consumers continue paying the prices, they will stay.

If only wages were inflating as well!

I stopped by the grocery store last night to get the items below and the order total was $52 before my store discount card savings. It went down to $40 as a final total.

-1 lb ground turkey $6.99
-bread crumbs $3.99
-bag of apples $5.99
-baby watermelon $3.29
-mozz cheese $4.99
-eggs $7.69
-lactose free milk $4.49
-almond milk $3.99
-romaine lettuce $4.19
-1 english cucumber $2

The only item purchased that wasn't on my list was the baby watermelon. I bought that b/c I've been craving watermelon so badly lately.

The only item purchased that was name brand was the mozzarella cheese. All other items were store brand. Totally ridiculous.

I scored a deal 2 weeks ago. Costco had an abundance and marked their 2-dozen packs down to $3.49 limit 1 per customer. Right place at the right time. I texted a friend and about the deal and by the time she got there an hour later, the sale was over and the price was back to normal.

Eggs are not a good indicator. Too much price rising due to the avian flu. Now eggs are coming back down in price.

Remember “inflation will be transitory” / “supply chain issues”?

I used to shop Walmart, but now even their prices are insane. How is this sustainable? I am type 2 diabetic, so my doctor recently put me on ozempic to lower my a1c. Now I have no appetite. Good, because I can’t afford food!

Dairy prices are insane. I’ve given it up, to save money. No milk, cheese, anything. My last hold out is crumbles goat cheese from Trader Joes, but if it goes about $3, I’m giving up that too!
