Who paid for the buses?

The school paid for it.

The county would only pay for regular school buses. Going to Jamestown usually requires charter buses. Who paid for those?

They did use charter buses for this trip and they only asked for $5. I don't know where the funds came from.

I’m the $105 poster and now I am wondering why ours is almost double than that of other schools.

School didn't shop around for more than one quote?

What did it include? Charter bus with how many different stops?

Why is that hilarious? Yes, $64 is a decent chunk of change, but I don't understand why you think it incredibly funny for someone to want to help a kid whose parent won't pay for whatever reason?

I feel like a lot of kids on FARMs have families that can actually afford to pay for many things, they just are trying to get as much for free as they can. No one verifies eligibility.

Some may be, and some may not. I don't like the idea though of making the kids bear the brunt of poor parenting decisions, they do enough of that. I do have a limit; I will match the price of the trip up to 20 bucks, that's how much I donated when my own DC went to Jamestown. I can't remember the exact price, but it was over $50, and no one got left behind.

Should the schools that regularly attend the trip stop because not all schools do it?

Nope, parents can help the teachers organize them.

I know our school used a company to plan for Williamsburg. There was still work on the teachers part with permission forms, coordinating lunch, Chapornes, but at least they had a one stop shop for tickets, busses, and organizing the tour guides.

Yes and I was super nervous about it. but kid did well.

Oh my goodness. It is not long for driving that far away. Don't go or drive your child yourself and let them sleep in the car if sleeping on the bus is not possible. This is the type of complaint that people will say, well maybe they should not be mainstreamed then. Complaining about this obviously hurts other kids who can handle this trip without issue and is one of the highlights of their elementary experience.

Ours was $35 I believe.

I’m a teacher and have planned this trip countless times. It’s not very hard. T
