Anyone successfully able to stop their dog from eating poop while out on walks?

My dear late puggle ate poop for his entire 14 years, and I tried everything. I recently got a new dog, and he has no interest in poop, and it is SO FREEING. I never realized how much stress it caused me! Like a constant vigilance -- where is he? is he eating poo? It's gratifying to read so many PPs are dealing with this, (but thoughts and prayers), because even the vet techs acted like they'd never known a dog not to grow out of that habit.
