Discouraged.

(this is all stuff I tell myself, OP, so am repeating this for myself as much as anything!)

Genetics plays a role in our "ideal" weight. I'm 5'7 and there's no way I could get to the 120 pounds my friend, same height, weighs. But 140 is a good goal for me. And I'm 10 pounds away from that, and I already exercise a lot and eat pretty healthy. So it's very very hard to drop these 10 pounds.

Someone else who might weigh 150 and wants to get to 140 but drinks a lot of alcohol, doesn't work out, and eats crap would slim down to 140 in no time if they had my habits, because they've got room to improve. I don't have that much room to improve. My body really wants to settle at 150 pounds. I look and feel better at 140, so I'm forcing myself to get there and then will try like hell to stay there, but it is not at all easy.

It helps to remind ourselves, too, that if we were not dieting and exercising, our weight would be creeping up rather than staying put....so that helps too.

Good luck to you. I finally saw a tiny budge downward on the scale today so hoping I can keep it up!

A body recomp might give you better results since you aren't overweight. It involves eating at your maintenance and prioritizing protein and strength training to focus on building more lean tissue instead of restricting more and more and stalling out.
