| The mayor has screwed with the projected enrollment in one year to justify cutting a classroom teacher for one single year (every grade below is much bigger). Isn't that what stability funds are designed to prevent? Who could think it was a good idea to fire an existing teacher whose spot you'd need to fill again the next year anyway? |
See note above about Hardy (and the several threads about Hardy this year). No idea why you don't get that budget cuts aren't a problem for all schools, whatever the ward. But keep that chip on your shoulder and that your child attends a school without 30 kids in every class. |
^^ budget cuts *are* a problem for every school |
Oh please. If you'd like to enroll you're more than welcome. You know perfectly well that despite physical crowding, you're getting the better deal. |
Actually, I don't know that. But if you are so sure, then you should move. There are rentals available in Ward 3 at a range of price levels. You'd likely find the rental my family lives in affordable. |
| I think a better title of the thread would be “why is DCPS cutting any school’s funding”? Didn’t the council pass a bill that said they couldn’t? |
Bc Bowser lies. Look back at threads during primary season. many of us were trying to tell you then. |
Yeah if only the 300 people who still read this site (100 of whom are probably not eligible to vote in DC elections) had listened to you, Robert white would be mayor and our schools flush with cash! |
Webster's defines triggered as: |
PP it’s tough to put your grown up panties on. Your response is unhelpful and immature. |
| Better question is why Ward 3 is educating 25% of the HS and MS kids? Looking at you Mr. Frumin. |
Why Frumin? It’s the mayor who holds the power. |
NP. Not even close. You seem not to know what "triggered" means. Can you please go look and see what Websters says the definition of a childish response when made to look foolish? PPP wasn't triggered. You were p0wned. |
Which one is saying “Ward 3 For All”? Oh, yeah. |
Your Ward 5 school -- Burroughs ES -- is receiving $21,464 dollars per student next year. The per-student average for Ward 3 elementary schools is $12,238. So your school is still receiving $9,226 more per student which is equivalent to 75% higher spending. If Janney received the same funding per student as Burroughs, it would increase Janney's annual budget by $5.7 million which would enable it to hire over 50 more teachers So there is that... |
