
I've heard that the IB program has been watered down in some area schools, as a result of Weast's efforts to get every HS to offer either AP or IB. (Which, not coincidentally, would bump up MoCo schools on the US News rankings.)
Another thing to consider is that many kids take 10 or more APs, many starting in sophomore year which show up on the college application. Versus 6 IB tests, most of which are taken senior year and don't show up on the college application. |
I dunno, as I understand it the IB organization is pretty strict in their oversight of schools. I'm not sure how much watering down could happen before they pulled the IB designation. |
