You mean hush money is a legitimate campaign expense?

Maybe you want your political donations to go to pay off porn stars but most donors would object.

I think it's more, "who cares, they all do it, whatabout Hilary's emails, whatabout Lewinsky", etc. etc. "You told us what Bill did was no big deal and now you want to crucify Trump for having a relationship with a consenting adult?"

The campaign finance thing is troubling but again, they'd just say "I'm sure they all do it". "libs only want to enforce the laws against Rs".

John Edwards was prosecuted for using campaign funds to pay off a mistress.
Trump was not prosecuted, but supposedly the crime he committed was to not declare this as campaign spending, the opposite of what Edwards did.

If Trump had declared this as campaign spending, liberals would then attack Trump for that as well.

It's not the sex, it's the cover up and the lies. And whether he "declared" the expense as being related to the campaign - where did the money come from? If it was spolitical contributions then, that is a financial crime. It's not about liberal attacks. It's about crime.

The federal crime is that the money came from the Trump Organization which was legally allowed to only donate a maximum amount that is about a tenth of $130,000. New York probably has a similar crime as most states do but I donโ€™t know what the threshold is.

And he then set Michael Cohen up to take the fall and a 3 year jail term.

Stormy Daniels is on the same level as Trump. Her word means nothing.

So they are both lying that they had sex and he paid her to not talk about it?
Why would they both lie about it?

It wasn't a campaign expense for Trump. The complaint was that it should have been declared as a campaign expense and he violated campaign finance law by not doing so.
They even got Michael Cohen to plead guilty to this.

It was not political contributions. See above- they are complaining it is a crime because it should have considered as a political contribution, and thus Trump org contributed more than the legal amount.

Dangling a pardon for silence. Sounds crimey and perhaps not the sort of email you should voluntarily turn over to a GJ.
