You’ve posted identifiable details about your daughter before, just an FYI.

Not at all. For 9th its acceptance rate has been very low the last few years. I’d say Hilton or NCS. Ncs has been on the downturn as far as popularity in the last few years. If she’s waitlisted at multiple schools her best chance of movement would be ncs followed by Holton

Very low? Maybe. But certainly not lower than NCS or Holton. Potomac has been slipping lately and ceding ground to Basis Independent McLean and others that now outrank Potomac, so I think the admissions chances at Potomac will only get better in the next few years as people move to other, better ranked VA and DMV schools.

You are using the Niche rankings which are pure garbage? If so, Potomac still ranks ahead of Maret, GPrep, Landon etc….

No kid wants to go to Basis. Only if their mom makes them go. Nice office building, in and office park, no campus to speak of. No sports teams and no social life. Yeah, sounds like a great place to send your kids…

I’m sure education net Potomac is better period, and will have a better balance of social skills, campus life, and extracurricular activities.

Seriously. I can’t even imagine there are any applicants that actually apply to both? Other than McLean addresses, I can’t think of anything in common?

It's not possible to walk onto Potomac's campus and then onto BIM's campus and think that any kid accepted to both would pick BIM.

Even though they’re different, I think a lot of kids apply to both. Mostly kids applying to Basis Independent McLean who need a safety school, and so will apply to Potomac.

Potomac is now a safety school for BIM? What about Holton?

This is past the point of ridiculous. Do you even know what the acceptance rate is at basis? Don’t forget this is the basis that has had most admin flee multiple times and had almost shut down due to low enrollment

Obviously a troll. Potomac acceptance is about 10 percent for any particular grade level. Basis will take anyone who can write a check as they have a hard time retaining students, faculty, and even HOS. Are they on the 6th HOS in 7 years? Yeah, sounds like a great place…I would not want to be at BIM either.

It’s actually a Potomac troll at this point. And the Potomac posters always bite and hard, esp the one who references the ‘office building’ at BASIS. Every time. But Potomac posters cannot resist.

I think Basis will become the top school in the DC area. The kids are so smart there. I picked Basis for my kid over STA…

this has been address. Holton acceptance rate for 9th is around 16% and Potomac around 10%.

It's hard to believe any parent in their right mind would do this. STA is superior, by far. You didn't do your kid any favors

I was this poster.

It was satire. No parent would ever pick Basis or STA if accepted at both….
