Which classes don't have textbooks at home?

Up through algebra 1 so far my kids brings the eureka combined textbook/workbook home for homework.

And eureka has materials on web for free too.

This is a thread about Algebra, not elementary school math. And I would not call Eureka workbooks, textbooks.

People will try to tell you otherwise, but the number of students who then need a tutor at the Hn Alg2 and Hn Pre-Cal level should be enough to convince folks that it’s not for everyone.

It's not always the case that kids needing tutors are misplaced. With different pedagogies being used and more emphasis on small group work, kids don't always get enough direct instruction in some classes and don't have textbooks to use at home. Kids that have already covered the material with RSM or AoPS are fine but kids who haven't may struggle. In these cases, tutors provide the direct instruction that they're not getting at school.

The materials on the web are slightly out of date and not exactly the same as what MCPS uses.

Advanced Math in MS (assigned cohorts by county)
6th - pre algebra
7th - algebra
8th - geometry

They don't advertise it but about 1/3 the middle schools allow Algebra and they just get mixed in with the 7/8th graders. The issue is Algebra 2 as some schools offer it and some don't. So those kids have to be sent to the HS.
