20 year old two accidents in under 6 months

Wow. You just refuse to hold your kids accountable and would rather the daughter commit a hit and run?!? You're something else. Trust and believe, your kid has two accidents in six months, it's them not granny.

She moved left slightly her left rear bumper hit daughters front right bumper she then shift back to right a bit and there is a big skid mark and her car stopped a few inches before hitting the bike lane poles.

My daughter issue is she should have been aware driver to right of her had no where to go and should have hit brakes, speed up etc.

I am happy police did not go to scene as she was shaken up and I could not get story off her. My older daughter a grandmother hit her and cop showed up and she was crying and upset and hit her head and was unsure what happened.

The grandmother twisted story around with police report. My daughter next day finally was clear headed enough to explain story and to be honest 50/50. Their needs to be defensive driving taught to teens and a course on what to do after an accident. Older people regularly scam younger people.

For instance my daughters original placement of car would clearly show who’s at fault. Women told daughter back it up and pull behind her for safety and then took pictures of daughter behind her and called it a rear end.

It annoys me as I am a good driver but I was in several accidents many years ago and had never got charged in one accident and got a pay out. It seems these kids panic today and the grownups take advantage.

Your story makes no sense. If the car that your daughter hit was in the left lane and your daughter was in the middle lane, by moving left, the other car would have been moving out of your daughters way onto the shoulder of the road.

Yeah, NP and I’m confused about what actually happened because it seems that you’ve told a few different versions and I’m not clearly understanding who is at fault.

I honestly do think PPs are being a little harsh. A lot of teens/young adults get into a lot of accidents in this area. It’s not a particularly easy place to be a new driver. I sure got into m my fair share when I was between 16 and 21 learning to drive in this area. You live and you learn. But, your concern should be helping your daughter learn to avoid accidents and also how to handle it if she does get into an accident. Rather, your focus is on whether people are trying to scam you. That’s not the point. You and her both need to deal with this more proactively.

1) pay the rate increase (either you or your daughter) or

2) take you daughter off insurance and take away her car. She can ride a bike, uber (that she pays for) or take public transportation.

I have one choice. Pay rate increase. She goes to school in different state and clinical work she does after school on in a sketchy area 10 miles off campus. There are not Ubers or buses.

She can’t pay as I literally pay all her bills. She can’t get insurance on her own and she does not own a car.

This women all I can help she does not file claim trying to blame daughter. Stupid car has check airbag light in but I think just to check it the airbag did not deploy.

I think from everything you’ve described you need to let insurance determine who is at fault. They will take statements and decide accordingly. Let them duke it out. If the lady really did swerve/merge into your daughter’s travel lane that changes the situation. But again, still a bit unclear from your account who is actually at fault.

I have been hit by scammers. My 19 sister a person backed out of driveway rammed her car on side. He then claimed his car parked in driveway and sister drove onto lawn and hot os parked car. Her other friend a guy while she was stopped at red light backed into her and claimed he was rear ended

Lots of old people taking advantage younger drivers.

This women 100 percent swerved into lane hit my car. But a sweet old Betty White Grandma vs teen we all know how that works.

She needs defensive driving big time. Honestly my buddy got hit like that and got car jacked.

OP has had "several accidents."
OP kicked older daughter off insurance over an accident.
OP thinks younger daughter's two accidents are the results of scam.

To quote the best commercial of my childhood, they learned it by watching you!

+1. And OP is still trying to blame others for accidents caused by her daughter. And she can’t learn from the comments here so end of thread

Well, what I’m hearing, and reading between the lines

* op’s kids are driving distracted
* as a result they have gotten into at least 3 silly collisions in the past few years (*)
* op thinks this is no big deal and insurance is unfair

Let me level this for you. You are lucky all the damage so far is property damage. When one of these things leads to serious injuries or fatalities you and your insurer will be staring at some big liability. And all the warning signs are there. The insurance increases reflect that. If your insurer is the same as mine I hope they drop you.

(*) yes the merging vehicle should yield, but there are other sections of the code that could apply to a vehicle that failed to allow a merge, including speed, following distance, and recklessness

OP they are all scammers. I showed up two accidents as kids called as nearby.

The one accident I pulled up and other driver did not realize I owned car that hit me. She was speaking perfect English. We chatted good cars safe location I will keep my car in back with Hazzards, then she realized I was with the other car.

All at once she acted different. Cop comes and all at once she can’t speak English and asks to speak in Spanish. Gives a whole made up story to cop. Then she goes Cabeza points to head the scammer. Her daughter shows up speaking perfect English and she points to us and says I pick up speak in Spanish.

Second women driving out of state plates with some crazy story made no sense. Car had Tennessee plates, she lives in VA, on way to MD to visit someone and car registered to someone else. She admitted fault at scene.

Third guy just wanted cash no receipt from me direct. I should have paid him his ransom.

Now I am told I need to talk to Fraud area on the phony parking lot claim my insurance company. Zero pay out and guy disappeared.

Latest one my policy won’t raise rates of under $500 payout so need to hold off on fixing my car until after they decide fault.

It is young people. I recall my sister when 22 borrowed my brothers car to drive. My two uncle at time were cops. On 95 in the Bronx her car gets hit by truck with extensive damage. Truck takes off. Cop comes. The Cop trying to help goes “wink wink” if you leave car on shoulder off road where it is will be stolen or stopped within an hour or two.

My sister calls a tow truck as worried it will get stolen. My brother had theft on car but no collision coverage. And he got a tow bill. She actually got hit three times before 24. All not her fault. My lawyer helped her on one and he was let me so frustrating dealing with such a stupid person (my sister) she got hit by a tractor trailer. Driver stopped, admitted fault but then she got in car still running as late for work.

Later her back killing her. But since no police report, ambulance called and she went to work that day her whole case was crap.

They should teach insurance in drivers Ed. Young drivers whether at fault or not at fault screw ot up.

Then I am left with headache. My daughter lost night time driving privileges. Myself and wife driving her back to school. I will drive her car. It is to stay in driveway except clinicals and supermarket. No personal driving.

Old people suck. Young people are stupid. I keep telling daughter I won’t pass underwriting at a new company two accidents. At next renewal my rates my skyrocket and with a third accident my policy will drop me unless I throw you off. Which means you won’t be able to drive or own a car till 24.

Have your kids ride a motorcycle around the dmv. If they survive 6’months they will be the most defensive drivers and better drivers than any class can provide

OP I am hiring a lawyer to get fake parking lot accident removed if possible. Zero payout to other car and no damage to my car.

And the new issue other driver ditching so far so will need lawyer on that too maybe. I don’t care about damages to my car more to get it coded not at fault or maybe expunged and fix in my own.

My car is not drivable as seat belts locked to to air bad sensors. I need new sensors, new seat belts, new headlight and bumper and fender repair! $6,300 estimate.
