Elnoubi is one of the SB members who actually tries to listen and engage with people who have different opinions of his. He is responsive to his constituents and constiuents in other districts (I'm one of them) who have SB members that don't respond. I have very different politics that Elnoubi and I've had very positive interactions with him. He is willing to listen and hear others' perspectives. |
It's such a low bar in Alexandria, isn't it? A school board member gets commended for doing his most basic job. That's great that Elnoubi responds even though you aren't his constituent. What has he done? What has he achieved in his time on the board? Someone up the thread said that he really represents his community well but couldn't offer any specifics. |
He's spoken up and said he wasn't going to be censored. He has been advocating for the west end schools to get more teachers and smaller class sizes. He voted to get the metal detectors in the HS despite the students saying it made them feel unsafe. He might be against SROs, but he went to cops vs. kids and played in the game and talked to every parent who is pro SRO and actually listened. He is open to constituents' ideas, not just his own. I respect that. |
He is one of the only people to stand up to Hutchings. Boo yah! That is BIG. He told Hutchings and Willie Bailey that he would not be censored. He engages with constituents using social media and had folks ask questions on different platforms. He will meet you for coffee to hear your perspective and listen. That means a lot. |
After his big talk about not being censored...he hasn't once spoken out of line with ACPS. It absolutely sounds like he deserves some credit on the metal detector vote but let's not pretend that after declaring that he wouldn't be censored...he censored himself. Booze did the same exact thing. |
Listening isn't an achievement. It's the most basic thing he should be doing. And while he did stand up to Hutchings on that one thing...he promptly followed Hutchings directions. And is still following it. |
Is Hutchings an ACPS consultant? |
