Kitchen renovation Outlets - under cabinets or in backsplash ?

Do that. Behind the appliance is better than dangling down for those appliances that stay out all the time.

Most kitchen (and bathroom) outlets are GFCI. No need to worry about idiots.

I prefer them in the backsplash, especially if the backsplash is white. I would think about future remodels too - if you remove and replace the cabinets, it would be a pain in the butt to have to redo the electrical, too.

We have this charging drawer and it’s used all the time and used at night while we sleep. Why would I need to use my phone and charge it at the same time? It charges all night long. Weird.

We have under cabinet outlets. The reason is we have a beautiful backsplash and I didn’t want it interrupted with outlets.

We also have the charging drawer and keep all iPads, earbuds, phones, and kindle and such in there charging. It’s easy to find stuff and doesn’t clutter up a space in the house. How we we are not so addicted to our devices that we can’t handle them being in drawers when not in use.
