Once my kid had earned enough points to pass, she didn’t worry about spending too much time reading or doing retakes on any modules (I think you get 3 attempts on each) and still ends up with a pretty good grade. She took the session that overlapped school since she took another course that summer; the self pacing made it easy to schedule around other assignments.
It is NO LONGER like this. “Grading for this course is pass/fail. Students must have an overall average of 64% or higher on the 140 Exit Tickets, 14 Module Tests, and Final exam to pass to the course. ALL 140 Exit Tickets, 14 Module Tests, and Final exam are mandatory regardless of reaching the minimum number of points prior to completing all the required assignments”. The way it is set up now you must take each exit ticket to proceed to the next followed by tests for each section. I also believe the start date is “ most likely” June 25 end date is July 29th. Last year summer dates were June 27-July 29

Likely a dumb question, but they can take this at thier own pace, right? We'll be on a two week vacation in the middle of those dates...so DD can do some (or all) before we go, and some (or all) when we return...correct?

YES, it is at your own pace and it looks like it's an additional two weeks longer than last year. My child did it last year and wanted to finish it 2 weeks early because they did not want to bring it on vacation( the last two weeks). They were able to do it. They had a summer job and a sports practice as well. There is also a teacher that is assigned to the class where you will get their email. That teacher keeps track of each students pacing. If you are running behind they will let you know. Students can also email the teacher with any questions or issues. Last year during, the first week, there was a computer glitch and everyone was alerted.

my DD wants to attend a camp the last week of class. She won't be able to bring her laptop. She can finish early, correct?

DC is in a camp during this whole period except the last week. Can they complete it in one week going all out?
Anonymous
what are the in-person classes that also fulfill this requirement?

It is called the same thing, just look on the Course Selection sheet for your high school. I know at Oakton if you take it during the year it is "honors".

That's what we're planning to do. We have a 2 week vacation right when school ends. The plan is to start right away on June 5th, do as much as possible and then continue when we come back from vacay. Can't take the laptops as we're traveling overseas and it will be hard to find good Wifi.

I like the extended day until July 28th.

Your child is at sleep away camp from June 5- July 20? Is it a job?

Starts from June 11th. It is an intense academic summer camp, no laptops or ipads, very limited phone usage. But child really loves it.

So a week before and a week after the camp is all the time child has. If someone is motivated can they do it in just those two weeks?

Does AP Macro/Micro Economics cover this course or no?

What's this camp?

If your child is a rising senior, learn from my mistake and sign them up now. This year registration is Tuesday, January 3 - Friday, May 19, 2023. Last year I thought registration went thru the beginning of June and didn't sign my child up in time. He has had to do the course this school year in addition to his AP classes and college applications. It has been a lot of juggling and he needs to finish by April so it counts for graduation in June.
