Have you stayed at a hostel as an adult?

Now I am a really old person (50) and want to get back to traveling more, but I am going to be on a budget. I wonder how accepting the young people are and how much sleep I would be able to get.

Took my kids here in London:

For me, it was hellish. It was hot for London, so we had to open the windows. The disco downstairs and the general nature of young people made it nearly impossible to sleep. But the budget did allow us to stay in Europe for a lot longer.

My daughter and I stayed at a hostel in Richmond. We had a private room with a bathroom and it was awesome. I loved the social common areas. I did feel old but it was still more fun than a hotel.

Wow, someone mentioned The Generator. I miss my early 20s!

That hostel was insane.
