Larry Hogan ad

+1 lesser of 2 evils.

If he runs, I'll switch back to R in the primaries to vote for him. I did that in 2016, to vote for not Trump.

what are you both referring to? can you explain, not enough experience of that time for me, thanks

Not PP but there was 0% chance MD’s electoral college votes would not go blue.

I’m a moderate D and voted for him when I lived in MD. I like him

NP.

It does not really matter whether his vote was needed for the electoral college.

You cannot be governor of a state you won because people crossed party lines to vote for you and somehow be unable to cross party lines when someone as destructive as Trump is on the ballot.

More importantly, he had to make this known. So even when this country was falling apart, he just had to announce that he was still a republican ( why else would he tell the country that he wrote in Reagan?)

This is the symptom of the cancer that is affecting the Republican party. There is no way I can trust this person to be president.

I am a Democrat in MD with a huge family, and we have all voted for this idiot in the past. Never again, and I will volunteer to run an anti- Hogan ad explaining why he cannot be trusted if he runs for president.

He "can't be trusted" because he wrote-in Reagan's name? Do you generally overreact to everything else, too?
DP

He will put his party over his principles. That is why he cannot be trusted.

Oh, please. "Vote blue no matter who" ring any bells?

He voted for a dead person. Calm down.

Fair enough. I'd rather vote for a dead person than vote for him. And I'd make sure to suggest this to all those Democrats who voted for him in Maryland to do same.

It's revolting how partisan you clearly are if you are this ridiculous about Larry Hogan - who is a good man and a moderate.

Such a cowardly move.

I'm a democrat, and I would consider voting for Hogan. And if the GOP wins the next election, God help us, I'll feel a lot safer with Hogan than any of the other nuts talking about running.
Anonymous
This moderate former Republican would be happy to vote for Hogan. Let's see if the Republican party can find its soul again and support him as their candidate. I don't think it will happen because they're still dominated by the wide-eyed and foaming-mouthed, though.

It was revolting how partisan Hogan was to have written in a dead president instead for voting for the only reasonable option, Biden.

Not really. I actually voted for Hogan in Maryland.

But it's definitely going to be my motto going forward.

Im not sure a symbolic vote for a dead person counts as partisan.

It counts as partisan. He is one of moderate voices in his party. People watch him, listen to him and make decisions that take his actions into account.

His symbolic vote sends a message to other moderate republicans that the options are: you vote republican or you stay home ( and I have a republican friend who did that in Virginia). This should not have been his message during Trump's presidency. He is a poor leader if he thinks that not only making but announcing that symbolic vote, was appropriate in those times.

Also, withheld abortion-training funds allocated by the legislature at the end of his term. He professes to be “moderate”, but he is NOT pro-choice - he tries to hide that though.

I live in MD and would campaign against him if he runs.

I live in Maryland too, but no one will need to campaign against him if he runs for the Republican nomination, because there isn’t a chance in hell he will get it.

He's a moderate Republican, but he's dull as dirt. DeSantis is much more charismatic (really!), sad to say. Given the choice, Hogan would likely make a decent POTUS. DeSantis, ugh. A smarter DJT who might actually succeed in totally destroying our democracy.

Hogan is OK. DeSantis is scary.
