Buying peace and quiet for Christmas

Anonymous
OP here and my kid has been happily playing in her room for 3 hours, taking breaks for a video conference with grandma and some lunch before getting back at it. And this is one toy— she still has multiple Lego sets to build and play with, cards gif her yoto player, three new games, plus a new purse and play jewelry…

I’m reading my book and eating actual bonbons (stocking stuffer). Bliss!

I thought my kid was sleeping in really late this morning, tired out from festivities and food yesterday. But by 9 I was worried she was getting sick. Just popped my head in and she’s deep into a play session with new toys, apparently got up before I did and already ate breakfast, brushed teeth, and got dressed.

I freaking love Boxing Day.
