What is Cape Town like?

I love it when I visited. Went to all the beat restaurants, saw all the sites, partied it up etc and was safe as can be BC i was with a group that had 12 armed highly trained security personnel with us at all times. Our protection even had protection. I think it was a bit over the top but precautions are a must. Consider it on par with Mexico City, Lagos and Moscow.

It's an amazing city, beautiful and lively, but it does have a really sketchy side. If you are smart about your surroundings, don't get lost and end up in the wrong part of town, never get caught out alone, etc, it would be a wonderful experience. But it's not for the naive or reckless young woman.

Yep. It's like the knuckle draggers posting threads consisting only of "Is Colombia safe?"

You don't need 13 armed guards to study abroad in Moscow or CDMX. Get a grip. This board blows.
