She comes across as a racist, misandrist, sexist when she whines to Obama that Dem losses in the House in 2010 were due to white men in “a mood.”

Imagine the outage if a Republican woman had blamed losses to black women “in a mood”. 100% hypocrite.

I generally respect Pelosi but as someone who has worked to elect democrats in the south and Midwest, I agree that was not a good comment. Being out of work is a terrible and scary experience. I don’t think Pelosi was great, at least at first and back then, at understanding what members from places that are not as liberal as SF have to go through to get elected.

I was surprised that line stayed in the documentary since her daughter needs could have edited it out easily.

I'm not surprised. The tone of the whole documentary feels more like a preservation of history as opposed to a feel-good spotlight on just one politician, despite what the other side will tell you.

Nancy Pelosi is a hero.

Calm and collected she saved the US from Alito & Thomases ragtag group of traitors.

If she had not called back congress on Jan 6th Trump and Co would have imposed martial law and it wouls have been even more horrific than it already is.

34 members of congress plus Treason weasels Ginni, Clarence and Alito should all be in shackles ready for the death penality.

If you do not understand what I am talking about
A 🧵on a vastly underreported element of the #January6th coup attempt involving #Alito. Last week, evidence emerged that #GinniThomas advocated for Mark Meadows bring Sidney Powell into a more prominent role in the preparations for the coup.

On January 6, Powell filed what is called an “emergency application” to the Supreme Court on behalf of Texas Republican and Trump ally Louie Gohmert and a number of far-right state politicians. The emergency application argued that Pence was violating the constitution...

.by invoking the “dispute-resolution process” in the Electoral Count Act, which states that if there are challenges to electoral slates, the vice president has the constitutional authority to resolve the dispute by determining which slate is correct.

Because of the procedural rules associated with such “emergency applications,” one justice, Republican Samuel Alito, had the power to grant/deny w/o bringing the matter before the full court. In other words, the Trump plan was to stop the electoral college w/ just 1 justice.

he emergency app was filed sometime from the late morning to the mid-afternoon, when the mob was ransacking Congress. It was officially docketed by SCOUTS at 3:51 PM, during the 199 minutes in which the Pentagon had delayed the deployment of the Nat'l Guard to clear the mob. 5/

Here is the GOOD PART!Alito did not immediately reject the emergency application, even though it was a flagrantly unconstitutional request to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Nor did Alito report the filing to the media, and it passed without being brought to the attention of the public. 6/

Instead, Alito kept the emergency application in his pocket, pending the outcome of the events on capitol hill. 7/

The Democratic Pty was well aware of the filing & made no effort to inform the public that one right-wing justice was on the verge of providing a pseudo-legal fig leaf for the coup. It was bc of the emergency application that Pelosi was forced to reconvene congress at 8 PM. 8/

t was necessary in order to certify the results before Alito could grant the application. It was not until 1 PM on Jan 7 that Alito issued an unsigned order rejecting Powell’s filing, at which point the application had been rendered moot by the previous night’s certification

Powell later called this case the "silver bullet" & wrote it had support of GOP leadership:

"McCarthy & Scalise supported Ghomert & the application of the 12th amendment. Republican Leadership’s opposition prevented Pelosi from being able to join as a party to the lawsuit." 10/

Powell: "The next morning, with no comment, SCOTUS denied the injunction w/o prejudice — a rapid response as Pelosi had already beaten the Court to it. Had Pelosi not rushed, the outcome of the case could have been different, & the President as well."

So there were 3 concerted coup efforts.
1) Use Alito/Pence to stop certification
2) If Pence refuses storm the capitol to stop the vote and scare everyone into leaving.
3) Create violence to justify martial law.
Pelosi doesn't budge.

PELOSI IS A HERO

Nobody should be so deliberately ignorant as to cast a vote for a Republican if they haven't watched all of it. I have talked to a number of Republicans who refuse to watch it, not on this documentary but in any form. I don't believe all Republicans are like the insurrectionists but to deny the truth of how they behaved that day is astonishing.

Yes, I know some too. It's how they stay comfortable with themselves, mentally.

Yes I am sure all of you have watched the John Boehner documentary with an open mind.

I would love to watch a John Boehner doc and I'm a democrat. I saw him once at the Guapos in Shirlington sitting on the patio, smoking a cigarette, looking all fake tanned and hot, I knew then he was a cool guy.

I wouldn’t say he was a nice guy. He and I were both speaking at a press conference in the basement of the Capitol in a windowless conference room. He smoked a cigarette the whole time as we prepped etc. I was 9 months pregnant: and visibly. This was in 2000. Thoughtless and gross

Roy Moore lost because of Black women “in a mood.” Republicans are just too dumb to acknowledge the reasons.

Roy Moore lost bc Richard Shelby stuck a pin in him, period.

If that was Republican oppo they would have dumped it well before the primary so Moore wouldn’t have gotten the GOP nomination.
