more complicated than that. there is a republican regime with somewhat complex and at times not always fully clear motivations that really really likes charter schools. dc is unusual in that its heavily blue but nonetheless has this long-entrenched school choice culture and charter school segment. electing these candidates might potentially be detrimental long-term for dcps and the continued improvement path that it is now on. unclear.
