Sorry that you feel this way. We’ve had nothing but lovely experiences at HTS and have been impressed with the curriculum and faculty.

You are sadly misinformed. For those of you that actually want your kids to receive a quality education, look elsewhere.

Notice how the one throwing our nasty attacks are anti-heights. All those who have said that they are pleased with The Heights have been respectful. Before anything, I’d like my child to be taught to be respectful- which it seems that The Heights is doing a better job of based on this forum!

Wasn't HTS in the answer above Holy Trinity School, not Heights? Still, I agree that they were rude and disrespectful, and offering unfounded opinions.

No, the PP above you was commenting on Trinity.

Together, you all are not showing all-boys Catholic in a good light. Go review your school’s mission statement and chill out.

Some of the preference for Gonzaga over Prep for these HT families could be related to geography and commuting difference.

Prep is a significant journey from the HT campus and the neighborhoods that send their boys to HT.

50% of the HTS student population live in Virginia close to the Chain Bridge or Key Bridge.

Which means a commute to Rockville during school-time rush hours would be awful.

The only families we know at the Heights have 6+ kids and drive 16 passenger vans. Nothing wrong with that if that's your jam.

Is the Heights properly preparing children for the actual diverse world we live in??

Our son has been at the Heights for a few years. He is an only child.. there are a few other families in his age group with only 1 child and several with only 2 or 3 kids. We are also not strict catholics. We know older families who have stayed at the Heights through graduation and others that have left for Georgetown Prep.
I am sure your son will succeed at any of these great schools. Good luck through the stressful process of choosing a school.

Do you feel like a second-class citizen being a women/mom there, or is that just a rumor ppl who hate religion perpetuate?

Not at all. Everyone has been warm, welcoming and super friendly.. as crazy as it is, no Heights moms/families have ever asked me why we only have one. I get the question all the time outside of this group and it always hard to respond (lots of miscarriages, apparently my body doesn’t like being pregnant etc)… I have also met a good amount of moms with very successful careers which I love as I also have a career.

Are there many non-Catholics at MD? We love everything about the school's approach to education, but are concerned about the social aspect from churches/parishes spilling over into school, since we're not Catholic ourselves.

No, there aren't.

I don't think there are any except for the few AA's possibly.

It's a very Catholic place and parishes like Mercy are strongly represented. Preference for Catholic high schools post-MD, especially Georgetown Prep, is very strong.

Parent group contains a lot of local, Catholic high school graduates who are now members of area parishes.

You may want to consider Landon which is not all that different from Mater Dei and has a different set of families.
