What’s the breaking point between short sleeve and long sleeve weather for a kid?

I walked with my teen kids on Friday afternoon: one had short sleeves and short skirt, the other was in sweatpants and turtleneck.

It would be torture for them to be held to the same clothes. They have very different temperature sensitivities.

This is OP. I’m not talking about forcing a high school child to wear clothes they don’t want to wear! Heavens, people. I’m talking about giving good counsel to my 5 year old. You guys are over the top.

40-60, t shirt with optional layer on top

For me, generally under 70 I'll do long sleeves. My kids stay comfy and not too hot. Over 70 but cool morning, I'd do short sleeves under jacket.
