Times Higher Education is known to be biased towards UK schools since it's a UK-based publication. No one believes Oxford is greater than Harvard anymore, it just isn't. Also, what is likely more relevant for us is their US Undergraduate Rankings which they also have.

This is all true. But the prestige of US universities overall is certainly falling and I think that is real.

This is all true. But the prestige of US universities overall is certainly falling and I think that is real.

The only countries with schools that are making any sort of progress against US schools are China and in the near future India. Each European country has like 1 school each that can sort of compete with top US schools, but outside of Oxford and Cambridge not really. Peking and Tsinghua are probably the schools with the most potential to compete with a Harvard or Duke or MIT in the US for undergrad.

My DH and I battle over our Masters degree schools and make our kids where swag depending on whatever list we dig up on the internet. Our kids don't care because we went to school before iPhones

Smart investment by them, seeing that China is the next big market. Parents, now is a good time to get your kids into Duke before it gets flooded by international students.
