No. This is what happens when you have insular and incompetent leadership who are shielded from accountability.

The buck stops with Dr. McKnight.

The buck stops with the BoE, who can fire Dr M.

OMG, my head is going to explode! I thought things couldn't get any worse after Boccegate! It's terrible that MCPS found that an employee was stealing so scandalous!!

It was multiple employees and they were working multiple embezzlement schemes for 5 years. On top on that MCPS was being cheated by the vendor that they buy their school buses from. That also went on for over 5 years. MCPS only looked back 5 years so this could have been going on for 20 years.

MCPS doesn’t monitor or audit credit card usage of administrators. There are over 1,000 MCPS credit cards floating around.

The MCPS credit card bill doubled from $9M to $18M recently.

I guess it's a testament to McKnight that her administration caught this despite only being charge for a few months!

You mean Smith. It was Smith’s administration that was in place. McKnight has been bringing in her own people this year and she was
Unable to say one single word about this massive embezzlement and fraud. She was outed this week by the State of Maryland audit.
She knew for months the Stare audit was going to expose this and she still didn’t get ahead of it.

Then what is McKnight doing about it since she won’t even acknowledge what happened?
Post her statement and plan here.

Or is embezzlement fine with her?

$1.7M was stolen from public school students and the superintendent said_____?

Welll, she just became in charge this past summer officially and if this just came to light now, I'd credit her; however, if it came to light before she was in charge also not really her fault. Either way she comes out looking good.

She didn’t catch anything, a state audit did.

Second, what was her previous job again?

She’s been responsible for these failures for years.

The McKnight boosterism is sad. She’s leading MCPS down a hole. Putting aside whatever about the education side, the administrative incompetence is a real concern. Glad though you can post positive things about your boss online during the work day. Seems like a good reason to be a strong supporter, getting paid to hang out on the internet instead of working.

You act like they recruited McKnight from out of state or something, instead of moving from deputy to acting to confirmed.

So why did she keep it a secret? It was outed by the State this week.

Sounds like McKnight has put an end to this abuse in her short time in office.

How? What has she done? Credit cards are still in use and not audited.

She was the deputy in Smith’s reign, no? Sorry she is implicated. One solution - inspector general for MCPS. Fairfax Public schools have one, why not MCPS?
