Sigh. A second unvaccinated aunt of mine has died of Covid.

I’m so sorry for your loss. We have to assume auntie was a woman of sound mind who made the decision that if COVID was going to take her, COVID was going to take her, and that was a risk she was willing to accept to not have to get a simple, free, and effective vaccine.

Everyone has to die of something, sometime.

Trump’s advice was to get vaccinated. I’m surprised you wouldn’t know that as a conservative, pro-vaccine woman.

This. If she had some abusive spouse who forbid her from getting vaccinated that would be horrifying, but this is a woman who made her own choice. Assuming she was cognitively capable then I have no issue with this. I been through a lot of deaths of family members. Most people will die in unpleasant ways. If it wasn't going to be Covid, in a few years it might have been cancer, or in a few more years the long slow decline into Alzheimers and perhaps a death from pneumonia.
