Sorry, I am a 70's kid so Vinnie Barbarino and his favorite saying come to mind, lol!

I love it! My friend has a son named Vincent. He goes by Vincent, not Vin or Vinnie. Cool kid, too.

I don't think he ever seriously got called Vinny, probably just teasingly/affectionately on occasion when a small child. Seems like a name that could be due for a comeback. If Walter and Eleanor can do it, why not Vincent.

Walter and Eleanor as names should both die. They’re awful.

what does strong name mean?

It means solid and accepted - gives a feeling of confidence and power. Often a strong name will have a strong meaning. In this case Vincent means “to conquer, victorious”.

+1. Saint Vincent is also a Catholic saint known for charity for the poor.

+2. Patron saint of kindness.

My son Vincent's birthday coincidentally falls on St. Vincent's day. I had no idea when we decided to name him after my grandfather.

I like that name just fine and now I also have what I consider to be one of the best songs of all time, Richard Thompson’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightening,” stuck in my head. In this case, Vincent is a motorcycle. Enjoy!

I have a Vincent!! I love it even more now than when we picked it. We get a lot of compliments on it, but also rarely meet other children named Vincent (meaning it’s not too common/overused).

glad you are not the ruler of names that should live or die.

My Vincent is 13 and he's always been the only one so named in his schools.

Do you like it?

Like it! It's a classic that's never really overused. I'm Catholic and it seems somewhat more popular amongst Catholics, but still not trendy in any way.

My two favorite male names are Vincent and Stephen.

Vin or Vince, avoid Vinny like others have said. Cute!
