Disney VIP agent

Where you stay depends on the ages of your kids and what they're into for sure. The nicer hotels we've stayed at were Riviera (fine, but not a whole lot to do there. Only hotel with focus on Rapunzel though, if that matters); Grand Floridian (I loved, but my kids found boring); Polynesian (everyone really liked this one and club level was great); and Contemporary (I didn't think I would like it, but I did and my kids loved the club level food. Being able to walk to Magic Kingdom was great).

There are definitely nicer hotels, but it's more fun to stay on theme.

I disagree with your choices in terms of Disney properties. Riviera is nicer than Grand Floridian — we’ve stayed at both recently.

I'm not the pp you are responding to but, Riviera is newer--but it is not a "deluxe" resort and will not get the extended evening hours (whatever it is they are calling them now.)

A travel agent can book VIP on your behalf through Disney. Many agents are free, I paid $500 because I had never been and wanted someone else to deal with my itinerary (literally minute by minute lol) and making my dinner reservations (and telling me where to eat based on what I told her we liked and would appreciate). Now that I have been and I understand it, might not need her again but it’s helpful if you don’t want to get a second job learning about how Disney works before you go. I didn’t get the VIP but she offered it. I also would have gone with a different hotel but she kindly explained why based on my travel history/needs I would be happier somewhere else and she was 100% right. It was a virtuoso agency with Disney specialists. Some people might think it was dumb but we were paying a ludicrous amount of money for the trip as it was so I didn’t want to save $500 and then feel like I screwed it up.

Unless something changed in the last few months, Riveria is considered deluxe for the puroposs of the extra hours.

No. But they have to fight Disney IT/hold lines, get up early, etc. and you don’t. And they are free to you (they get kickbacks from Disney).

I thought any property with DVC units (such as Riviera) is considered deluxe.
