Did your freshman had wisdom teeth removed this summer?

Nope - one has all 4 wisdom teeth in and both her dentist
and orthodontist are fine with leaving them. Other child is 22 and there is just now talk of considering removing them. I was 22 when mine were removed.

I had mine out summer (June) before college. Our neighbor’s daughter is going into jr yr of high school and just got here out last week.

"Impacted" doesn't mesn the wisdom teeth are jammed into the molars. "Impacted" means the tooth hasn't erupted through the gums.

Only partly right. It also means the tooth is growing at an odd angle preventing it from erupting through the gums normally. Google it.

Definitely consider summer instead of winter break. I had mine out before grad school and had some problems with healing and infection. I was moving from one state to another and traveling in a third the month after removal, and that’s when the healing got sidetracked. I was in the clear 6 weeks out but weeks 3-6 can go badly even if healing is normal up to then. Finding random oral surgeons away from home who are willing to treat someone who isn’t their patient was not fun as an adult and would be a challenge for a college student.
