Oh well? |

The New York Times picks up the thread with an above the fold article.
Questions About An Unsolved Murder Linger Over ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/19/books/where-the-crawdads-sing-delia-owens-murder-investigation.html This story keeps getting weirder. Naturalist wanted for questioning in murder pens best selling novel where naturalist gets away with murder? There's television footage of the murder but the shooter's face is blurred? They could never identify the slain man? WTH? |
Agree!! I truly don't understand why it's so beloved. |
| LOL over here because this is the book that got me not invited back to a book club. I was the only one there not blown away by the story. Everyone got quiet when I said I didn’t like it, and I was never invited back. |
| I loved the book and the beautiful descriptions. Have read it twice. |
Thank you for the courage of your convictions - it is admirable amidst the pile on. |
| Why do people hate the book so much? Was it too slow moving? |
The Art of Racing in the Rain was that book for me. I called it contrived and the book club leader was infuriated. |
| Didn’t read the book. The movie seemed like a plot told a thousand times before. Hard to believe any of it beyond the lack of mercy in an insular community. The movie would have been infinitesimally better if the drawings were done by a better artist. It would have been less annoying, but wouldn’t have saved the story. |
