Bought a house with outstanding permit issues!

Yeah, Montco has a site that lets you search by address: https://permittingservices.montgomerycountymd.gov/dps/online/esearch.aspx

(And of course I see one permit on mine that has some minor issues).

How hard did you google? Loudoun county permits and this was the top result: https://www.loudoun.gov/4264/Permitting

Yes, I found that immediately but had to dig to find a seachable database.

Excel spreadsheet reports are only available for reporting periods after March 1, 2017. Prior to March 1, 2017, only PDF versions (old format) of the reports are available.
The design and data elements (fields) are different for the new format and the "old format."
Each month, reports are generated for the first half (1-15) and for the complete month.

The Loudoun site is not easily searchable. I would recommend calling before buying in Loudoun.

Another tip: Double check your buyers contract. We had this happen when living in Brooklyn and discovered instead of boiler plate language, our real estate attorney had put something in about everything being permitted and current c of o which meant the previous owners were on the hook for the work we needed to get up to code.

most counties have a way to search for permits and gives status. Most home inspections do a permit search to see if things like the finished basement are actually listed as permitted on the property record.
