Wow I had forgotten that Perez was Maryland’s Secretary of Labor. And posters here are hilariously obsessed with Jawando if anyone is comparing him to Obama. |
He compares himself to Obama. All. The. Time. |
I hate the guy. But he’s allowed to promote his book on his own time. He just needs to keep his time card straight and report the book sales on his financial disclosure. |
Let’s not also forget all of the favorable media comparing him to Obama starting in 2016. https://www.mtv.com/news/2869415/will-jawando-doesnt-have-to-be-the-next-obama/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/trying-to-follow-the-obama-narrative-but-not-perfectly/2016/03/27/4c2969b0-db58-11e5-925f-1d10062cc82d_story.html It’s not like people are making this up due to an obsession or as a pejorative. |
Do you mean that if Wes Moore wins the race for Maryland governor, he will bring Jawando (running for Montgomery Council City Council) into the State government? I was impressed with Moore's book "The Other Wes Moore". On the other hand, I was previously impressed with JD Vance's book "Hillbilly Elegy", but Vance turned out to be a MAGA sleazebag (& currently the Republican nominee for Ohio senator). I may end up voting for Wes Moore but it won't just be because he is a good author. |
I’m voting for Moore based on: 1. Don’t like the other candidates and 2. My neighbors are big fans and say good things. 3. Personally a big fan of Aruna Miller. |
Moore and Vance are more similar than you realize. Moore worked in the Bush White House, is financially backed by Republicans on Wall Street, and has advocated for a third party led by Bloomberg types. |
