And listen to how far from home she feels comfortable with. She's probably a good candidate to stay within 3-4 hours max from home. If she's reluctant, that way you can visit if needed and she can easily make it home for all breaks.

I'd say she's a good candidate for a smaller, Liberal arts school or at least a university that is on the smaller size with a focus on students and smaller class sizes.

And a school that lets students pick their majors or at least for most majors. Do not want her somewhere that she cannot get into half the majors due to restrictions.

OP here. She wants to go to the other coast. She’s dying to go somewhere new, just really unclear on college goals.

Everyone keeps pushing small school (her school counselor, paid counselor, etc) but she really wants somewhere bigger.

University of Washington is a bigger school option in Seattle.

University of Denver could be of interest. Certainly a totally new place and people than the DC area. Not too big or small (so hopefully fits her desire for larger and yet she won’t get “lost” in the crowd). Denver is a cool city with great internship opps, which could be great for someone who wants to explore careers. And last, you said she is dyslexic, and I believe U of D has a strong support system maybe even special program for certain learning differences.
