Michigan and I think Florida used to do mailers that offered automatic admission to people in the 90s.

I remember because my dad wanted me to very seriously think about it due to the football programs. That's great, dad, you just want tickets ;P

I agree with you. Amherst has been selective for all of our lifetimes. Maybe this happened across the way at UMASS Amherst.
