Setting aside the geographic preferences for a moment, consider:
Santa Clara LMU Gonzaga TCU Marquette DePaul Loyola Chicago SLU Creighton |
??? W&M is, if anything, slightly more selective than Villanova, especially for non-VA residents. Longwood and Liberty, if they are one step below, are a BIG step below. VA Tech is probably right, but not generally similar to Villanova. Villanova is suburban Philly and 6000 students. VA Tech is rural and 30,000 students. |
Notre Dame is a step below Villanova - even if they don’t think so. Haha.

Size of attendees has nothing to do with it. W&M is below based on most majors |
| Nephew was admitted to SLU in the fall for a science major. They have really strong ties with the medical center that's across the street. |
Yep, my extended family is quite familiar with these schools. Great vibe. Toss in Providence for a slight reach and Dayton for a safety. |
Sorry, yes! |
| No one has mentioned Fordham (unless I missed it), which in recent years has been an easier admit that Villanova. I agree with the mentions of St. Joe's too. |
I think someone mentioned it early on. Totally agree, it's a great school. |
| Definitely St. Joe’s and Duquesne. If they want smaller, I’d say Seton Hall. |
OP here. I just went to google maps to do a virtual "walk" of the campus and there's a guy (looks like a maintenance worker? He's leaning against an official university vehicle) flipping off the google maps camera. Right between Rose hill Gymnasium and Walsh Training center.
I will look more into Fordham, though. Thank you! |
