Eastern HS on Hill East has a fabulous turf field and track that is locked up and hardly ever used.
In the 90's I think some women that worked at the GPO walked the track at Gonzaga during lunch. But pretty sure that was just an informal thing. And the field was grass, so the number of activities that could take place due to poor weather and/or turf management was a lot less too. Now it's constantly in use. And as the previous poster pointed out, Gonzaga is a private school that pays for it. Public tax dollars pay for public parks/school/fields. |
